Who We Are / How We Think
"SEEKING JUSTICE" At Clifford & Garde, LLP we prefer to represent clients whose causes we fully support as being aligned with the interest of justice. We believe that this approach helps us advocate our clients' causes to the highest level of our ability. "DIVERSE CLIENTS" Our diverse client base includes employers and employees, plaintiffs and defendants. We believe that the merits of each case depend on the facts and law, not on the identities of the parties. We are proud of our extensive experience representing plaintiff employees, and earned much of our reputations on that side of the courtroom, but we are equally proud that we have been able to successfully represent defendant employers. "EXCELLENCE" We strive to give every client the very best advice and representation. It is our goal to give clients the benefit of our combined experience, not only in trying cases, but in evaluating their positions and, where necessary, making the best of a difficult situation. "OUTSIDE THE BOX" Just as the cause of justice is not the exclusive territory of any one group, so too the way to justice is not limited to the court system. Other forms of dispute resolution may offer a better way of accomplishing a just result. We want to be creative in finding the best path and are proud of our accomplishments as advocates, consultants, educators and mediators. We believe that disputes are better avoided in the first place, if at all possible, and that education is the best prevention. "EFFICIENCY" We have deliberately created a small firm of dedicated professionals. Our reason for rejecting the wisdom of the "full service/large platform" model of the law "business" is simple: we don't want to do everything; but what we do, we do very well and efficiently. We believe our small size works to the advantage of our clients. When needed (such as in major investigations) we call upon an experienced team of consultants.
